The Charred Timber house is located along Mollymook’s Golf Avenue

The design seeks to respond to the clients brief for a large dynamic house with a view towards the south end of mollymook beach.

The intent for this design was to create spaces with a sense of calm and flow.

A focus on  robust and textural materials were important to deliver a strong sense of place.

The strong cantilevered upper floor was clad in long lasting charred timber seems to float as a element over the planked off form concrete and stone below.

A large upper level lap pool was set as a foreground visual asset and bridge between the ocean view and indoor / outdoor living.
