Calm House – Vincentia

The Calm house located in Vincentia, Jervis bay was undertaken as a Alterations and Additions project to a existing 1990’s two storey brick veneer house.

Commissioned for both Architecture and Interiors this design embraces texture, mood, play on natural light for an overall calming effect.

Its water view of Jervis bay and gumtree back drop was a key driver in design decisions including a new deck kitchen and glazing to the north.

With the existing façade facing the street underwhelming, a more modern gable style roofline was introduced. The main material choice being ironbark cladding assisted added  longevity and warmth to the design.

Delivering the client brief of practical and refined spaces for the family was down though relocation of the master to the upper level, a lift and 2 additional bedrooms was also added. A large 3 car garage/ workshop with automated sling garage doors was added to the front of the house and aesthetically blended with the same timber as the main house.

The design was configured for indoor outdoor living. By creating level transition between the hall, kitchen, living deck and backyard we optimised the connectivity of these spaces the sense of all being one.
