This significant alterations and additions project

This significant alterations and additions project is located at waters edge of Callala beach. The client for this project wanted a house for their family that would hold up to the harsh salt environment. The collective design brief was to ensure the house would evoke vibes of south coast holidays through simplicity and warmth.⁠

This architectural concept delves into the challenges of a sloping site. Situated on an elevated spot in Gerringong, it is strategically positioned to capture the expansive rural views. We aimed to meet the client brief of a spacious modern family home with a solid feel. Off form Concrete BGC vertically grooved black cladding and mixed textured materials assist in breaking down the scale of the house. ⁠

This design explores a response to a difficult side sloping site. The living space has direct views to the pool and northern orientation. Silvertop ash timber cladding and mixed textured materials tie the textural built form to the gumtree backdrop. Exposed steel web trusses elevate the ceiling to the north. ⁠
